How Does Scalp Micro Pigmentation Hair Loss Treatments Work?

October 19, 2015

So you are considering options for treating your hair loss… there are lots of things to try, or maybe you have tried them all! So, how does Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) hair loss treatment tattoo work? Well, its relatively easy. SMP Hair loss tattoo isn’t like a regular body tattoo at all, its completely different on many levels.

The depth of a body tattoo is much deeper to the dermal layer, Scalp MicroPigmentation (SMP) is very superficial tattoo. Receiving a body tattoo is known to be quite uncomfortable and in many cases painful. When creating a natural hair design with SMP, our clients rate our treatments to be 0-4 pain out of 10. Some clients find it very relaxing and a few have fallen asleep during the procedure.

There are 9 shades that can be created to match your existing hair.

One of the most commonly asked questions I hear at a consultation is – ‘How short do I need to wear my hair?’ To keep the results looking as natural and as realistic as possible, the hair is best either clean shaven with a razor, or clipped to a ‘0’. Most guys will get one week out of the haircut before it starts to look too long and needs trimming again. If the SMP is to camouflage thinning hair that is long, this will be discussed at your consultation.

SMP Hair Tattoo treatments need three sessions to complete the transformation. At each session we can add density and work on the hairline if we are transforming the shape over the three sessions.

Where are the sessions performed? We work out of Norwood Day Surgery located 5 minutes for Adelaide CBD – a clean clinical environment with doctors onsite available to administer pain relief options should we need them.

Coming into the busy time of year for many, why not treat yourself before Christmas and feel confident at social events and with family this year. Make your first consultation about SMP with SMP Adelaide.
